Providing Renewable Energy to over 775+ people in Rural Uganda
Electricity is nonexistent for the majority of people living in rural Uganda. Instead, families use kerosene lamps, which are highly dangerous and toxic. Kigezi Women recognizes that in order to improve the living conditions of the families we serve across the three villages, we must first support families in accessing basic necessities such as water and electricity.
As of August 2018, the Solar Project has provided solar panels to 129 families in the village of Kakore & Nangara and transformed the lives of over 775 women, children, and men in rural Uganda through the power of renewable energy. See videos of the Wendi Electricity Technicians in action!
